This painting was commissioned by Fantasy Flight Games for their card game, "A Game Of Thrones". It is based on "A Song of Ice and Fire", an epic fantasy series by American author George R. R. Martin.

Those of you who are into the book series... this young horseman flies the banner of House Dayne, which depicts a white shooting start crossed by a white sword, on a purple background. This heraldry symbol is made manifest as he lifts his sword.
